Trinity Parish

Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday - February 5, 2008

Trinity Parishioners enjoyed fellowship and delicious food prepared by the men of our parish.
"Shrove" is derived from an old English word that means "to confess one's sins." It is the Tuesday immediately before Ash Wednesday.
Trinity, like many parishes, mark Shorve Tuesday with a special event or a potluck dinner.

This is also the beginning of the 40-day Lenten fasting period when the faithful were forbidden by the church to consume meat, butter, eggs or milk.
In order to use up all the milk butter and eggs people often make and enjoy pancakes. And, we did!

The cooks did a fantastic job - and it looked like they were having a great time!
Parish members had
a good and delicious time.
We were ready to begin the Lenten season.
